Volunteer for YRNF Committees

Dear Young Republicans,

I hope all of you have gotten some much needed rest after the very successful convention last week in Indianapolis! Todd Tolsen and the Indiana Federation of Young Republicans did a fabulous job!

So many of you expressed an interest last week in helping to kick this new administration off by serving on committees. As you can imagine I could never remember all of those that are willing to serve. We want all who want to be involved to have that opportunity so if you are interested in serving please send me an email with your information and where you would like to serve to audra.shay@yrnf.com

Thanks again to Indiana and thanks to all of you that made it such a great success!

Audra Shay
Chairman
Young Republican National Federation

Rep. Sherman Parker Funeral Arrangements‏

As many of you may know, Former Rep. Sherman Parker passed away suddenly and unexpectedly last week. Rep. Parker tragically died shortly after he suffered a brain aneurysm late last week.

Rep. Parker was elected to the Missouri House of Representatives in 2002 and served the 12th District in St. Charles County. He himself was still a Young Republican (only 37 years) and could be found at YR events even when the legislature was in session. He has been an important leader in the Republican Party's efforts to reach out to minority constituents and voters; his leadership in that area will be sorely missed.

I ask all of you to remember Sherman and his family in your prayers. His funeral arrangements are below:

Friday, Sept. 26th, 2008
Viewing 8:30-9:30a.m.
Austin A. Layne Mortuary
7302 W. Florissant Ave.
St. Louis, MO 63136

*NOTE*

Trust fund for Sherman Parker's daughter
A fund has been established at Bank of America to provide for Sherman Parker's six-year-old daughter, Alexandra Parker. Contributions can be made at any Bank of America location nationwide. Simply tell the Bank of America teller or representative that you would like to make a contribution to the Alexandra Parker Fund.

Missouri YR State Update

With a little over one month to go until the November 4 election, now is the time to kick our “get out the vote” efforts into high gear. The Missouri Victory ’08 team has volunteer operations in every county, and has recently opened several new Victory offices throughout the state.

Visit http://missouri.johnmccain.com/Missouri.htm for a list of Victory ’08 offices, along with contact information. Stop by one of these offices to help get out the vote in November, whether by making phone calls, going door-to-door, supporting candidates at parades and other public functions, or completing other worthwhile tasks.

If there is not a Victory office near you, sign up to volunteer, because your efforts in your county or city will have an impact on each and every statewide race, U.S. representative races, and your local races for state representative, city offices and county offices as well. Visit http://www.mogop.org/wp/2008-election-information/ for federal and statewide candidate information.
----------------------------------------
The last day to register to vote for the November election in Missouri is Wednesday, October 8. Make sure your registration is up-to-date if you have recently moved to or within Missouri. Visit http://sos.mo.gov/elections/register2vote/ for voter information and to print off a voter registration card for your area.
